England Hockey suspended all hockey activity on 17th March.
The majority of the teams in the Kent Men’s and Ladies League had just one game left to play (some in the Men’s leagues had finished their season due to smaller divisions).
In line with the National League and subsequent decisions by the South (Men’s) and East (Ladies) Leagues, the Management Committee have agreed that no further hockey will be played in the 2019/20 season.
We will follow the decisions made by the respective regional leagues, therefore:
- Kent Men’s Divisions – will conclude as they current stand
- Kent Ladies Divisions – points will be calculated as a percentage. This is calculated on total points won (3 for a win, 1 for a draw), minus any points deducted for disciplinary offences, then divided by the total number of points available from the games played, multiplied by 100 to give the percentage. Should teams have the same percentage points goal difference will then be used.
We believe there will be minimal effect on league positions as a result.
Final promotions and relegation’s will be confirmed very soon.
Fixtures for next season will be based on a September resumption to hockey, but this will clearly need to be reviewed as the summer progresses.
Any teams/clubs facing difficulty should contact their League Rep.
We hope the Kent Hockey Family stays fit and healthy, and we look forward to getting back to the game we love.
