Kent Response to England Hockey Proposal

20/02/2020 23:26

Please find the Kent Hockey Association’s response to the EH restructure proposals.

In short Kent do not agree with the proposals in their current form and have requested a delay and further details in a number of different areas.

We are not the only County with this view and we appreciate as clubs you may not agree with Kent, but we have a duty is to ensure these changes suit all our clubs not just a few.

Details of the proposals are on the England Hockey website  http://www.englandhockey.co.uk/page.asp?section=2464&sectionTitle=Governance+Review+2018

There will be a meeting with Charlie Farrow from England Hockey on Monday 2nd March at 7.30 at Holcombe HC and we urge as all clubs to send a representative so you can understand the impact on club hockey at all levels.

If the proposal has a majority vote at the England Hockey AGM on 17th March then the new structure will be implemented from season 2021/22.

All affiliated clubs and member associations will be able to vote on these proposals in the England Hockey AGM on 17th March 2020.

Voting forms should have been sent out to primary contacts at each body in early February.

All bodies will be able to vote electronically so it is not necessary to attend the AGM.

We urge your club to cast a their vote given the importance and impact these proposals will have on the future of our game.

If your club has not received anything or there is any uncertainty please email agm.resolution@englandhockey.co.uk.
