Kent Committee

This page will host the information about the Kent Committee.

The Committee is Responsible for:

  1. Overseeing the Player Pathway in Kent
  2. Overseeing junior competitions (School and Club) in Kent
  3. Creating opportunities for juniors to play hockey in Kent.
  4. Creating and overseeing competitions for adults.

To ensure the Player Pathway in Kent is run effectively, including:

  • Ensuring coaches are safe, competent and hold the appropriate insurance / licences, including enhanced DBS certificates
  • Ensuring complaints are handled effectively
  • Ensuring adequate provision across the county
  • Ensuring income and expenditure from the Player Pathway is accounted for correctly

Support the development of junior hockey in school and clubs

To ensure junior competitions for schools and clubs are run effectively, including:

  • Boys club league and cup competitions
  • Girls club league and cup competitions
  • Any junior club competitions required by EH, East or South
  • Boys school cup competitions
  • Girls school cup competitions
  • Any schools cup competitions required by EH, East or South

Help to ensure competitions continue to be relevant to their participants and respond to feedback from clubs and participants.

Help to ensure information regarding competitions, including entry, orders of play and results, are posted to the county website in a timely fashion.

Ensure that the winners of the County competitions are informed of any progression on to regional or national rounds.

Ensure the regional or national competition organisers are informed of any Kent qualifiers

Support initiatives to increase participation amongst children

Operating Model for the Kent Junior Committee:

The committee will ultimately be responsible to:

  • The Chair

The Sub‐Committee shall comprise at least the following:

  • The Player Pathway co‐ordinator
  • The Treasurer
  • Two club representatives 
  • Mini Festivals coordinator
  • The league organisers for boys 
  • The league organisers for girls 
  • The competition organiser for girls’ schools 
  • The competition organiser for boys’ schools  

The Committee shall meet at least twice a year to discuss the Player Pathway in Kent, the minimum attendees will be:

  • The Chair
  • The Player Pathway co‐ordinator
  • The Treasurer
  • The two club representatives

At least once a year to discuss junior and school competitions in Kent, the minimum attendees will be:

Club representatives will be appointed on an annual basis.
