This season we are offering specialist goalkeeper development sessions as part of the Junior Academy Centres.
The first 3 of these sessions are being held at Tonbridge School Centre (where the tournaments were held in December), with coaching being delivered by Lynn Dawson, who is an England Hockey Centrally Contracted Coach, and part of the JRPC, HIPAC and England coaching set ups.
The first three sessions will be taking place from 7pm - 9pm on the following Fridays:
29 January
5 February
12 February
These sessions are provided to JAC squad members free of charge, and are designed to give keepers access to specialist keeper development to help raise their skills as players generally and furthermore with an eye on places in the JRPC.
We will be running 3 sessions on Sundays later in the JAC calendar, and will confirm the dates on this page once this is in place. These later sessions will be held at Maidstone Hockey Club, and will further develop the work started at the Tonbridge sessions.
Attendance of all 6 sessions is not compulsory - this is something the county are offering to keepers as an opportunity, and understand if the timings are not suitable. However, we would highly recommend taking them as gaining access to this kind of specialised training is very rare, often restricted to out of seasons development camps run by keepers and hockey manufacturers.
