The Kent Men’s Senior County squad played the initial round of the EH A Division County Championships at St Albans over the weekend of the 6th and 7th of May 2017.

Winning the first game against Hertfordshire 4-1 was an excellent start to our campaign. The second game on the Saturday vs Sussex finished 7-1 putting us in an excellent position for the Sunday fixtures.

The early game on Sunday against Staffordshire finished 7-0 ensuring we had qualified for the Finals weekend. Our fourth game was against Somerset (playing their 3rd game), where we unfortunately came second 1-5. This meant we qualified through to the Finals in second place where we would meet Lincolnshire in the semis.

Two weeks later we travelled to Nottingham for the Semi & Final matches.

In the semi we went DSC_7193down 5-2 in the first half, after a frank half time talk the team rallied and came back to win the match 7-5, an excellent effort by all.

Yorkshire met Somerset in their semi and had an easy game leading at 6-0 at half time, winning 7-0.

The Final was a repeat of 2016 with Yorkshire facing Kent. At half time the scores were even at 3-3. The second half proved to be a challenge with Yorkshire winning 8-4, their 5th win in the last 6 years.
